May 2 - May I ask something about you?

First of all, doesn't my blog look cute now? One of my friends helped me out. I really wanted a star background. I love it! My friend has a blog of her own, where she posts swatches of makeup and nail polish. So go check it out here!

Inspired by my friend's blog, my question for today is about makeup and other beauty products.

What are some of your favorite beauty products?
And to keep this related to YA, any bad makeup choices you remember making as a teen?

Some of my favorite products are: lip gloss (anything & everything! I love it all), nail polish (mostly OPI and China Glaze, any & all colors), Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara, those makeup remover wipes (since I'm too lazy to wash my face before bed), and Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner.

As far as bad makeup choices... I remember wearing coral lipstick. Yuck! I read in a magazine that it was the best color for me, so of course I had to wear it. I also remember wearing navy blue eyeliner, as recommended by Mary Kay, and also believing that lip gloss could be used as eye shadow in a pinch. (I swear it looked good!)

  1. I almost never wear makeup anymore, but I used to wear it semi-occasionally when I was younger. When I was a teen, I thought you were supposed to apply makeup thickly, to make it obvious you were wearing it. Thankfully, I wasn't allowed to do that, though I still thought it was a crock when magazines said you were supposed to not look like you had on makeup.

I love the body butters from the Body Shop, and their other natural products. I also love the products from Origins and Aveeno. I have eczema, so I can't put just anything on my skin.

I wasn't a teen, but I was in my early twenties when I was the proud owner of a tube of purple lipstick. My parents were horrified at how I wore it to my senior photo shoot for the university yearbook. Combined with the lighting and my ghost-white skin, and my facial expression in a few photos, that purple lipstick made me look like a pissed-off Vampyre!

    1. I forgot to mention all the Bath & Body Works stuff I love.

That's funny about the purple lipstick! I'm surprised I never had that.

  2. Mascara...I already have super long eyelashes but I love to accentuate them :D
Maybe not a bad makeup choice, but I got my eyebrows done (they NEEDED it badly) but for some reason they were kind of too short afterwards, looked silly a bit :D

  3. I can't recall any horrid makeup choices from my past... I never got heavily into trends really. My must-have products are mascara (I like Cover Girl, an eyelash curler (crucial), lip gloss or Chapstick, and MAC bronzer, because everyone looks healthier with a little glow. :)

    Fun question, Zanne!

    1. I have tried & tried, but I just can't master the eyelash curler!

I have not tried MAC bronzer, so I am going to have to check that out. I agree, I look better with a little glow.

  4. Bad makeup I rocked in high school? Dark lipstick. Like BROWN. It was horrible. Looking at pictures makes me shake my head so much. I think it's why I am so anti-lipstick now and stick to really sheer gloss.

    1. I also tried dark lipstick, but it was in college. I wore matte burgundy lipstick. I'm sure it looked awful, but I loved it! I also stick to sheer gloss now!

  5. Mascara! Definitely mascara. lol. I look tired a lot lately, it opens up my eyes a wee bit!
A beauty product i adore is Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, a primer, you can use it as a face mask too. It's just amazing! Ooo and Avon's limp plumping gloss. It tingles, i had all the guys trying it on a night out once, hilarious.

Bad makeup choices...hmm, too much eyeliner in school *cringe* That's all i used to wear, mascara and eyeliner. Oh to be young...

    1. Yes, mascara is definitely a must have. The first time I tried a lip plumping gloss, I hated it. Now I love it!

      Thanks for stopping by! :)
